    ~ Potential Value Sampler ~

The Potential Value Sampler or “Swendsen Slider” originated from my interest in the recorded and sampled world of sound and my own curiosity of how we can interact with that world in the context of live performance.

The controller is a simplistic MIDI sample scrubber using a single soft potentiometer, mapped to a maximum of five samples (personalized by the instrumentalist).

The scrubber has onboard volume control and a variable sample “blip” size control (the amount of time of the sample played at each instance).

    – The “Bello” –

    A Collision of Electroacoustic Interests

The “Bello” is the result of the week long Physical Interaction Design workshop at The Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA, Stanford University).

With the instruction of Sasha Leitman and Roger Linn I learned about designing, coding, and construction physical interfaces for electroacoustic performance.

I was inspired by my passion for playing both the cello and electric bass guitar to design an interface with aspects of both through my own gestural vision.
